In 1976, Dan Searby, a successful private investor, bought Palo Alto Snelling & Snelling, a franchise of the world's largest personnel service. Dan appointed his wife Cathy the Manager/CEO. Cathy's office quickly became the top producer in the Snelling & Snelling 650 office system. Cathy was named "Manager of the Year," year after year and earned a reputation as Silicon Valley's leading source for high-end administrative staff.
In 1997 the Searbys left the Snelling franchise system and became an independent staffing firm known as the Palo Alto Staffing Services. This new independence allowed management more creativity and flexibility in fulfilling the specific needs of our clients. We are responsive to changing business opportunities and offer custom solutions to unique situations.
Four of Cathy's seven recruiters have been with her for 20 years. This longevity in a business noted for turnover speaks volumes of Cathy's managerial skills and why Silicon Valley's most demanding companies turn to her for help in staffing.
